The Parent’s Page is a resource that has been created for you, as parents of preschoolers. It is my hope that by offering this resource page I can offer you help, encouragement and a chance to talk to other parents about the issues you face as you raise your kids. So please, jump right in. Share your experiences, thoughts, concerns, questions and any fantastic resources that you can.
In Deuteronomy 6:5-9 Moses says “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
Each month I will be posting a Parent Cue. Parent Cue is a fantastic resource for you. It helps you accomplish everything these verses in Deuteronomy are talking about by breaking down activities into strategic times you have each day with your child. You can use these times that you have daily with your child to begin building a lifetime of faith discussions into time you already spend with your preschooler. We all spend time in the car with our kids – why not use some of that time to talk about the things God has created? We all give our children baths (at least occasionally) – why not use that time to teach kids that God made them. We all put our kids to bed at night – why not use that time to tell them that God loves them and He wants to be their friend forever? We are all busy, and none of us have a lot of spare time in our days. But we do have time with our kids each day. Why not use the time that we already have with our children to impress on their hearts simple truths about God.
